MONTRÉAL, April 18, 2012 /CNW/ - Press Registration is open for the forthcoming International Polar Year Conference: From Knowledge to Action to be held from 22-27 April 2012, Montréal, Canada.
The IPY 2012 Conference will bring together over 2,500 Arctic and Antarctic researchers, policy-and decision-makers, and a broad range of interested parties from academia, industry, non-government, education and circumpolar communities including indigenous peoples. The From Knowledge to Action Conference will contribute to the translation of new polar scientific findings into a meaningful basis for action that will influence global decisions, policies and outcomes over the coming years.
A full-service Media Centre will be available at the Conference and onsite media will have access to press conferences, scrums and one-on-one interviews with leading polar scientists, political leaders, and other polar luminaries. You will also have opportunities to network and socialize during side events including the Polar Film Festival, a media tour as well as public tours of the Canadian Coast Guard vessel the CCGS Amundsen, and various receptions being held by participating organizations. The media tour of the Amundsen will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. next to the Montreal Science Center in the Old Port.
Complimentary registration to the conference will be given to all members of the news media who are awarded accreditation.
