Media Advisory - GTAA launches 10th annual Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive in
support of Toronto's food banks
TORONTO, April 12 /CNW/ -
WHAT: Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive media launch
The Greater Toronto Apartment Association will be launching its
10th annual Spring H.O.P.E. (Housing Owners and People
Everywhere) Food Drive. In over 800 apartment buildings across
the city on Tuesday evening, resident volunteers will be going
door-to-door collecting food donations in support of food banks.
This food drive is the largest door-to-door food drive in Canada.
Since food banks across the GTA have had to extend their spring
drives, the success of the Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive will
hopefully provide a much needed boost to what has been a slow
drive for donations. Last year, the Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive
raised almost 90,000 lbs for Daily Bread Food Bank and North York
Harvest Food Bank. This year, the Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive
hopes to raise at least 100,000 lbs of food.
