Media Advisory - Governor General to Visit Toronto

OTTAWA, May 11, 2017 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will be in Toronto on Monday, May 15, 2017, to promote the spirit of innovation among Canadian youth and entrepreneurs.

In the morning, the Governor General will deliver a keynote address at the Ontario Prayer Breakfast. Following this, His Excellency will speak to SHAD students at Ryerson University about innovation. Later in the day, he will deliver remarks at Discovery 2017.

Keynote Address at the Ontario Prayer Breakfast
His Excellency will deliver the keynote address at the 49th annual Ontario Prayer Breakfast. The Ontario Prayer Breakfast is an annual opportunity for the Christian community to gather together to support members of the provincial parliament and city councillors in prayer. Discussion on Innovation with SHAD Students at Ryerson University
The Governor General and Tim Jackson, President and CEO of SHAD, will have a fireside chat on innovation with students attending the 2017 SHAD program at Ryerson University. The conversation will be followed by a question period. This fireside chat is part of the launch of SHAD at Ryerson, which is the 13th university in Canada to partner with the award-winning program.
