STANLEY PARK, VANCOUVER, Nov. 12 /CNW/ - Bright Nights - On Monday, November 23, we invite the media to join BC's Professional Fire Fighters, the staff from the Stanley Park Train and Children's Farmyard and even Santa, as everyone puts the finishing touches on the Twelfth Annual Bright Nights in Stanley Park lighting event. This year's theme is winter sports, including hockey, skiing and snowboarding. The displays and live entertainment will spotlight the fun of the great Canadian outdoors.

An annual tradition for many families in the Lower Mainland, over 250,000 people visit Bright Nights each year. A joint event of the Vancouver Park Board(http://vancouver.ca/parks/events/brightnights/index.htm) and the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund(http://www.burnfund.org/), Bright Nights runs from Friday, November 27, 2009 until January 2, 2010. Hours are 3 PM to 10 PM daily. It is closed Christmas Day. Please note: the Farmyard closes at 9 PM daily.

BRIGHT NIGHTS IN STANLEY PARK RAISES MONEY FOR THE BURN FUND

Preventing Victims, Empowering Survivors!!!(TM) - Partial proceeds from the train and all donations at the event help raise funds for the important work carried out by the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund. The fundraising goal for this year is $250,000.

The Burn Fund provides life saving, life supporting, and life enriching services to the people in British Columbia. More than 3,700 professional fire fighters from fifty communities around the province dedicate their time and skills to support burn survivors and increase the public's knowledge about fire and burn safety issues through the work the Burn Fund does with its Burn Awareness, Research and Prevention Programs.
