TORONTO, April 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Toronto's diverse lesbian, gay, bi and trans (LGBT) communities are coming together for four days of events to build momentum for next year's World Pride celebrations in Toronto. In collaboration with Travel Gay Canada, Pride Toronto, Rainbow High Travel and Toronto PFLAG, the Church Wellesley Village BIA is pleased to announce the following events to launch, explore, discover, celebrate and honour our communities in advance of World Pride 2014:

Update on LGBT Travel: Travel Gay Canada hosts its AGM reception at Church on Church (504 Church Street) and will provide an update on LGBT travel trends and milestones. Pride Toronto will also provide an update on World Pride and potential business partnerships

Celebrate The Village: Business owners, property owners and residents will join at Church and Gloucester for a community reception and celebration. This event will include the first lighting of The Village's new rainbow gateway markers and opportunities to learn more about the Mural and Summer in the Village projects now underway.

Honour our Allies: Toronto PFLAG presents its second annual awards gala at the Mirvish Theatre. This year, PFLAG honours Sharon Gless and Ontario MPP's who worked together to ensure the passage of "Toby's Act", and will include an appearance by Rosie O'Donnell.
