OTTAWA, Oct. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The Privacy Commissioner of Canada's 2008-2009 Annual Report to Parliament on the Privacy Act is expected to be tabled in Parliament on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
The report will highlight the findings of in-depth audits of two major federal national security initiatives - Transport Canada's Passenger Protect Program or "no-fly list" and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada, better known as FINTRAC.
The annual report is expected to be tabled at approximately 10 a.m. After tabling, copies will be available to the media through the Parliamentary Press Gallery and on the Privacy Commissioner's website at www.priv.gc.ca.
Assistant Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Chantal Bernier, will be available to answer journalists' questions about the report during a technical briefing.
