Media Advisory - Christ Church Cathedral Seeks Help to Save Spire, Upgrade Music, Serve Needy

MONTREAL, May 24, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Montreal's Christ Church Cathedral is to launch a major fundraising campaign this spring – its first public appeal in more than 125 years.

Tuesday, May 30

11:00 a.m.

Christ Church Cathedral, 635 St. Catherine Street West (between Union and Robert-Bourassa)
From there, guests will pass through the cathedral to Raoul Wallenberg Square behind the church building, where the ceremony will take place.
In case of rain, the ceremony will take place on the second floor of the cathedral offices, at 1440 Union Avenue.

The launch will be preceded (at 10:00 a.m.) by the unveiling of a plaque by Parks Canada, commemorating the national historic significance of the Cathedral. Parks Canada will issue its own release for this occasion.

Although details of the campaign will not be announced until the launch, media are warmly invited to prepare stories in advance. We will be glad to assist in providing interviews, background information and audio-visual material and opportunities.
