Food Banks Canada wins big with Team Martin and Uncle Ben's

TORONTO, Oct. 19 /CNW/ - Uncle Ben's is thrilled to announce the national launch of its program to address the growing problem of hunger in Canada. This multi-faceted campaign will support Food Banks Canada over the coming years with much needed awareness of the issue of hunger, and funds to assist Canadians in need. This program will also provide opportunities to identify and honour Canadians who are working to combat hunger in their own communities.

    WHAT:  Kick off of the national launch of the Uncle Ben's charitable

        -  Onsite: Team Martin and representatives from Uncle Ben's, Food
           Banks Canada and North York Harvest
        -  Food Banks Canada will address the important issue of hunger in
        -  Team Martin will explain their role in this program as partners
           with Uncle Ben's, who will contribute to a growing donation pool
           for Food Banks Canada for each curling match won until the end of
           April 2010

    PHOTO OP: Team Martin and representatives from Uncles Ben's will be
    helping out at North York Harvest, a member of Food Banks Canada, by
    delivering and unpacking food donations to the organization.
