TORONTO , Oct. 27 /CNW/ - The Canadian Science Policy Conference has brought together Canada's academic, industry, government, and non-profit sectors to discuss the most important science policy issues facing the country. In addition to the keynote addresses mentioned below, there will be 13 panel discussions featuring 58 prominent speakers (see http://sciencepolicy.ca).

    Highlights:

    -   Wed. Oct. 28, 6:30 pm, Marriott Eaton Centre: Opening remarks by the
        Hon. John Milloy, Ontario Minister of Training, Colleges and
        Universities, and Minister of Research and Innovation, followed by a
        Keynote Address from Dr. Bruce Alberts, Editor-in-chief, Science
        Magazine.

    -   Thurs. Oct 29, 12 noon, 89 Chestnut St.: Keynote address by
        Preston Manning, President and CEO of the Manning Centre for Building
        Democracy.

    -   Fri. Oct 30, 9 am, 89 Chestnut St.: Keynote address by the
        Hon. Gary Goodyear, Minister of State, Science and Technology
