Media Advisory - Canada's first-of-its-kind centre for children with special needs celebrates public launch of Capital Campaign at The Forks
WINNIPEG, Jan. 31, 2014 /CNW/ - On Sunday, February 2, 2014, media and the public are invited to gather under the canopy at The Forks to kick-off the public launch of the SSCY Centre Capital Campaign. Guests are invited to skate along to the wonderful sounds of Winnipeg's own Fred Penner, take part in an interactive photo booth, face painting and more.
Upon completion of construction in 2016, The SSCY (Specialized Services for Children and Youth) Centre will be the first facility of its kind in Canada, combining services from multiple providers in one central place. For families with children with special needs, getting from one appointment to the next is not an easy task. Imagine travelling in the blowing snow by bus or van, from one side of the city to the next. Now imagine a place where all of these services are under one roof.
