Media Advisory - Business and editorial leaders from so-called "ethnic media"
to discuss successes at CJF event January 19

TORONTO , Jan. 13 /CNW/ - The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF) will host a panel discussion featuring business and editorial leaders from the so-called "ethnic media" who'll discuss their respective visions, how they're realizing them and the progress they're making. The event, "The Rise of 'Ethnic Media'", takes place on Tuesday, January 19 , 6:30 p.m. , at Innis Town Hall in Toronto .

Featured panelists include Jagdish Grewal, editor and publisher of Punjabi Post; Shirley Chan , managing editor of the magazine and supplement section of Ming Pao Daily News; Madeline Ziniak, Canadian Ethnic Media Association executive chair and OMNI Television national vice president; and Lori Abittan, president and CEO of Multimedia Nova Corporation. Chief Diversity Officer of Ontario Public Service and former journalist Noëlle Richardson will moderate the panel. The discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception in the adjacent cafe.
