Media Advisory - BC Treaty Commission to appear before Finance Committee

VANCOUVER , Oct. 28 /CNW/ - The BC Treaty Commission will appear before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance in Ottawa today to make the economic case for accelerating treaty completions in British Columbia.

Chief Commissioner Sophie Pierre and Commissioners Robert Phillips , Jerry Lampert and Dave Haggard will ask the finance committee to consider, in its pre-budget consultation report to parliament, the importance of achieving the economic stimulus effects that will result from completing treaties in British Columbia.
