Montreal to become Canada's center of excellence in childhood and early adulthood leukemia and lymphoma research 

MONTRÉAL, May 7, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ -

WHAT:	$3.8 M investment in 7 pediatric cancer research projects sponsored by the Canadian Cancer Society and the Cole Foundation, as well as several public and private investors.
	These unique projects will foster the development of new ideas, the training of new teams of clinicians and researchers (21 researchers from Montreal), as well as greater synergy between 6 health/research establishments.

WHO:	Suzanne Dubois, Executive Director, Canadian Cancer Society – Quebec Barry Cole, CEO and Board Chair of the Cole Foundation Researchers funded by the Canadian Cancer Society and the Cole Foundation Alexander Porras, a 19 year-old being monitored after undergoing treatment for leukemia Mégane Parent, a 16 year-old now being treated for lymphoma

Participants will be available for interviews after the press conference. 

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children in the country.

Leukemia and lymphoma alone account for more than 40% of the childhood cancer cases that will be diagnosed in 2018.
