Media Advisory - 65,000 Canadian Youth Don't Have a Place to Call Home. You
Can Help!

VANCOUVER, Jan. 29 /CNW/ - Raising The Roof achieves its goals by creating high impact, community-based Toque Campaigns that fund grass-roots agencies working front-line in your community. The Toque Campaign in Vancouver is our invitation to all Vancouverites to come together and participate in solutions to homelessness by buying and wearing a $10 Raising the Roof toque.

WHAT: It's Raising the Roof's annual Toque Tuesday fundraising - and
awareness raising - event. It's time to buy a Raising the Roof
              Toque and help the homeless!

Goal: To sell 3000 toques on the Skytrains in one day!

WHO: Raising the Roof is Canada's only national charity dedicated
solely to finding long-term solutions for homelessness. This
national Toque Campaign raises funds and awareness in the fight
against homelessness in Canada. Eighty percent of proceeds
raised in Vancouver will go directly to support two local
              homelessness-serving community agencies - BladeRunners
(Vancouver) and the Progressive Housing Society (Burnaby). The
remaining twenty percent will support Raising the Roof's
national Youthworks initiative, focused on breaking the cycle
              of youth homelessness across Canada.

WHEN: Toque Tuesday, February 2nd, during the daily commute,
              6:30 - 9:30 a.m., 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. - 3

WHERE: Over 50 toque-selling volunteers from BladeRunners, Progressive
Housing Society and the community will be stationed at 12
