TORONTO, Sept. 3, 2015 /CNW/ - Shannon Mishimagi - who has launched a $1-Million lawsuit against the Coffeehouse Chain for failing to protect her from violence in the workplace - will discuss concerns over meager protections for the rights of young workers in Ontario. Mishimagi, 23, and her lawyer Saron Gebresellassi, alongside various stakeholders and leaders within the workers' justice sector, will provide context and details of the lawsuit at a bilingual press conference outside the Starbucks' Runnymede and Bloor location. This is particularly topical in light of Mayor John Tory's recent announcement of a partnership with Starbucks Canada to put scores of young people in Toronto to work at its various locations across the city.
