One-day hiring blitz offers over 600 jobs in British Columbia
VANCOUVER, Sept. 9, 2013 /CNW/ - On September 13, McDonald's and its franchisees in British Columbia will host the second consecutive West Hiring Day, where McDonald's plans to hire over 600 new employees across the province.
West Hiring Day is a one-day hiring event held at participating restaurants in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Job-seekers are invited to apply in-restaurant for crew and manager positions. Applications will be taken in-person at participating restaurants across BC where interested candidates will learn more about local restaurant opportunities and possibly even be interviewed on the spot by a member of the restaurant management team. Those unable to apply in-person can go to www.worksforme.ca to submit their applications.
West Hiring Day began in 2012, following the establishment of a National Hiring Day by McDonald's Canada in 2011. National Hiring Day has been a tremendous success, with approximately 5,700 people being hired as a result of the event in 2013. 1,153 people were hired during West Hiring Day in 2012, including 393 from BC.
"We want to build upon the great team we already have at our McDonald's restaurants in Vancouver and West Hiring Day helps us attract new talent," said Andy Bates, McDonald's Vancouver Owner/Operator.
