TORONTO, Feb. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - MBAC Fertilizer Corp. ("MBAC" or the "Company") (TSX: MBC) is pleased to announce that it has completed its previously announced C$35,100,000 equity financing (the "Offering"). A total of 13,000,000 common shares of the Company (the "Offered Shares") were issued and sold at a price of $2.70 per share. The Offering was completed through a syndicate of underwriters led by Canaccord Genuity Corp. and including BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., National Bank Financial Inc. and GMP Securities L.P. (the "Underwriters").
The Offered Shares were sold by way of a short form prospectus in each of the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
The net proceeds of the Offering are intended to be used by the Company to advance the Santana and Araxá projects in Brazil and for general working capital purposes.
