TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - The MyNextRace mascot, Jefferson, pledges to raise awareness and donations for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's, Team in Training, during The ScotiaBank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Dressed in full mascot-attire (Peter Donato), will attempt the Guinness Book of World Records.
"I expect it to get pretty hot under all that fur! I have experience running in the heat. I ran in the Arizona desert Ironman Triathlon and a scorcher day at the Boston Marathon. When the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon announced the $2,500 'Best Dressed' prize this year it motivated me to raise additional funds for charity while attempting to break a world record." Peter Donato, CEO and founder, www.MyNextRace.com.
Jefferson encourages other teams and media to challenge him for the prize of 'Best Dressed'. If Donato completes the marathon in less than 4:30 he will hold the Guinness World Record for running a marathon wearing a mascot.
