Kentucky plant produces 1 million vehicle seat sets in three years
AURORA, ON, April 8, 2015 /CNW/ - Magna International Inc. announces today that its Louisville Seating Systems manufacturing division has achieved the production milestone of 1 million sets of automobile seats manufactured. Louisville Seating started producing complete seat sets in April 2012 for the Ford Escape, and since then has expanded its customer base to help reach the million mark.

Louisville Seating Systems, a 140,000-square-foot operation with approximately 450 employees, performs complete seat assembly as well as just-in-time sequencing and delivery. In addition to the Ford Escape, the plant produces the complete seats for the Lincoln MKC and also supplies foam seat pads to Magna's Spring Hill, Tennessee, facility. The Louisville facility uses a variety of advanced manufacturing processes and materials, including flexible color capabilities and recyclable bio-poly foam.
