Mackenzie appoints Alex Bellefleur as Chief Economist and Strategist, Multi-Asset Strategies Team

TORONTO, Sept. 12, 2018 /CNW/ - Mackenzie Investments has hired Alex Bellefleur, CFA, effective September 17, as Chief Economist and Strategist of the Multi-Asset Strategies Team. Insightful research is the foundation of Mackenzie's investment strategies and Bellefleur will support and help drive the team's asset allocation solutions for investors. Working with this leading team, Bellefleur will contribute insights to build proprietary valuation models and assess macroeconomic conditions and their impact on global markets.

Prior to this appointment, Bellefleur served in progressively senior roles at Pavilion Global Markets Ltd. in Montreal, most recently as Head of Global Macro Strategy & Research. He also worked as an Associate Analyst at Moody's Investors Service in Toronto. He has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from Université Laval and the University of British Columbia, respectively.

Mackenzie Investments has also hired Blair Ireland, CFA, effective September 17, as Portfolio Manager on the Multi-Asset Strategies Team. Ireland has worked as a portfolio manager and researcher at firms such as CPP Investment Board and Citadel. He has a strong background in systematic portfolio management and global macroeconomics.
