QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 16, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebec-based outdoor lighting firm Lumca just won the better part of one of the biggest tenders in the North American lighting industry: converting all 130,000 light fixtures in Montreal to LED. Lumca will be producing and delivering 60% of the 36,000 decorative fixtures that need to be replaced, making it the go-to vendor for the second largest city in Canada. With a company known for valuing its people, it's no surprise to see Lumca's innovative team shine across the continent. Millions of city residents and visitors will now experience the convenience and cutting-edge features of Lumca's Concept and Ovaali lines of luminaires. A dazzling take on business and development!
When the City of Montreal put out a call for tenders on a $28 million project to replace its decorative fixtures, Lumca won the lion's share of the job, with a contract of more than $15.5 million. The company was awarded eight out of the nine lots for which its lighting products were eligible. In keeping with its famously high quality of service and products, Lumca pitched solutions meeting the most rigorous criteria, including on price, energy consumption, and photometric performance. In doing so, the company has proven that it is the best-value supplier of state-of-the-art energy-efficient luminaires. As part of this final push to modernize Montreal's decorative lighting, the fixtures promise to dramatically reduce electricity consumption over the next ten years—which means big savings for the City. What's more, Lumca's technology will also beautify urban spaces and reduce light pollution.
Montrealers will soon experience the beauty and utility of Lumca luminaires for themselves. The modular Concept line cuts energy costs by up to 70%, and the sleek, ultramodern Ovaali line blends in with any setting. The 36-month conversion will begin in September 2018 and cover the entire metropolitan area.
To accommodate the three years of production required by this contract and to maintain its high standards of service and manufacturing for its other partners, the 28-year-old company will devote an entire new production line to this project. Lumca co-president and head of sales and marketing Dennis Dion calls the project "another exciting chapter in the partnership between Lumca and the City of Montreal." With 30,000 Lumca luminaires already installed in the city, Mr. Dion sees this contract as "confirmation of the city's satisfaction and trust in the Lumca brand." But more than anything, the project is just the latest expression of the company's commitment to its employees, its community, and the world: Lumca is "Lighting Life."
Building on decades of experience designing and manufacturing beautiful, brilliant lighting products, Lumca has forged a reputation as a maker of light fixtures that combine aesthetics, functionality, and pure innovation. Lumca is the gold standard of outdoor lighting in North America. Known for its excellent service, attention to detail, and ability to meet the most exacting requirements, the company cultivates a pioneering spirit that has given rise to gorgeous lighting systems with ingenious features.
