LSBF and BCIT School of Business to deliver Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
VANCOUVER, March 19, 2013 /CNW/ - The London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology School of Business (BCIT) announce their new affiliation, to deliver an exclusive post-graduate degree in business designed to prepare students from Canada and around the world, to communicate, innovate and excel in the fast-changing global marketplace. Delivered at BCIT's downtown campus in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration is an 8-month program offering guaranteed progression to an MBA at selected universities in Europe and North America.
Robin Hemmingsen, Dean of the School of Business at BCIT, says: "This program directly leads to a well-recognized global MBA, building upon the practical, career-focused business programs that BCIT School of Business is known for. Degree graduates from any discipline will have the opportunity to study with students from all over the world."
With campuses in the UK, Canada, and Singapore, LSBF is one of the world's fastest growing business schools. Delivering undergraduate, postgraduate, executive, and professional courses, LSBF partners with the world's leading institutions to offer exclusive program and enable students worldwide to reach their career goals.
With over 45,000 students enrolled every year, BCIT is one of British Columbia's largest higher education institutions, offering career-focused programmes including undergraduate and graduate degrees, diplomas, and certificates, covering industries such as Natural Sciences, Business & Media, Computing & IT, Health Sciences and Engineering.
Yuliya Etingen, Managing Director for LSBF Americas, commented: "At LSBF we are driven by excellence and we partner with institutions who share our philosophy. We're very proud to work alongside BCIT and create a program that will not only give students the skills they need to develop their career in business, but also provide them with the opportunity to progress to an MBA."
THE COURSE
Developed between the academic teams of both institutions, the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration is targeted at students who wish to accelerate their career progression or refresh their knowledge and skills before studying for an MBA. The course also provides an excellent basis for international students who do not have the required level of English proficiency for an MBA or other business-related postgraduate degree.
Upon completion, students will be able to progress onto an MBA program at LSBF, or the New York Institute of Technology in one of the most influential and diverse cities in the world: London, Vancouver or New York.
During the course, students have the opportunity to gain work experience in Vancouver, putting their theoretical skills into practice in one of Canada's most important business hubs.
With intakes in January, May and September, the program covers the essential elements of business, meeting the broad spectrum of career demands faced by today's professionals.
"We believe that these courses will help experienced professionals stay at the very forefront of their field. With the insight and business knowledge of our faculty, we developed programs which are tailored to prepare them for changes in a competitive environment. While preparing for their MBA, our students will also take away the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary to improve their performance and to adopt a more proactive stance in their careers", added Ms Etingen.
Ms.Hemmingsen agrees: "This is a unique opportunity for students to gain a foundation to excel in the global economy."
