Loto-Québec to open a gaming hall in Saguenay: A new, modern and safe entertainment hub
SAGUENAY, QC, Dec. 5, 2025 /CNW/ - Loto-Québec is proud to announce the opening of a new gaming hall in Saguenay. This project will transform the Delta Hotel and its conference centre into an entertainment destination. It is scheduled to open in about 18 months.
Saguenay, one of Québec's great cities, already enjoys a strong tourist appeal. This project will be a new asset that will benefit not only citizens but also conference attendees and visitors.
An environment designed to entertain
Designed as a comprehensive entertainment venue, the Salon de jeux de Saguenay will offer a modern, lively, and supervised environment. In addition to the gaming options, visitors will be able to enjoy a vibrant event lineup featuring shows and live entertainment. This type of gaming location helps foster social interaction and oversee gambling responsibly.
Clear economic and tourist sector support
The press conference brought together several elected officials, including Jonquière MNA Yannick Gagnon and Saguenay Mayor Luc Boivin, as well as regional economic and tourism leaders, a testament to the strong local support and engagement for this promising project.
Comments from Jean-François Bergeron, President and Chief Executive Officer of Loto-Québec
"We're proud to present this project in Saguenay, a vibrant region known for its warm welcome and development potential. The Salon de jeux will generate positive spin-offs for the community, notably through job creation and tourist spending, as well as through the business partnerships that will arise."
"Our priority remains to offer an environment where gaming is overseen safely and responsibly, fostering low-risk gambling. Our teams are trained to support clients, and the location will benefit from state-of-the-art security systems."
A responsibly led project
Loto-Québec, whose mission is to manage games of chance in Québec, will continue to work closely with the Direction générale de la santé publique and take its concerns into account, as it has always done with every project. It is worth noting that the initial concerns raised when establishing the Québec and Trois-Rivières gaming halls did not materialize.
Furthermore, Loto-Québec continues its efforts to promote low-risk gambling, including reducing access to video lottery by grouping terminals in a limited number of locations (fewer doors, but better doors).
Loto-Québec is excited for Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean residents to discover its new gaming hall and to share it with tourists and conference attendees who will benefit from this new entertainment location.
