Los Cabos hosts annual "Los Cabos Open of Surf" with brand new addition of ASP 6-Star Women's Division
LOS CABOS, MEXICO, May 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Canadian surf and sport fanatics who are sick of the cold can still get their fix with the "Los Cabos Open of Surf", taking place on June 16-22 along the beaches of Costa Azul. For seven days, local up-and-comers ride with international pros in this esteemed competition. The event will be the largest surf and music festival in Mexico and Latin America and the only combined Men's and Women's 6-Star competition in North America this year.
For the first time, "Los Cabos Open of Surf" is adding a women's competitive division, bringing in names like Anastasia Ashley, winner of 2010 Women's Pipeline Pro, and Malia Manual, youngest to ever win the US Open of Surf (2008). These world-class surfers will be competing for a ticket at the World Championship Tour as well as $155,000 in cash prizes and $40,000 in prize money for the women's event.

Canadians can give surfing a go for the full surfboarding experience at one of the 20 beaches in Los Cabos. Three main areas: south-facing East Cape, southeast-facing Costa Azul, and west-facing Pacific Coast - all provide Cabo with inviting shorelines and waves for all types of surf levels.
