NIAGARA FALLS, ON, Feb. 18, 2014 /CNW/ - After more than a century, hops are making a comeback in Ontario agriculture. And the timing couldn't be better. The Ontario Craft Beer industry is booming with strong consumer demand.
The Great Ontario-Hopped Craft Beer Competition (GOHCBC), now in its second year, brings together Ontario hop producers and the Ontario craft brewing industry. This year, 8 teams from across the province consisting of a hop grower and craft brewer will submit entries geared for the style of an American Brown Ale, battling it out for the coveted 'Bottomless Cup' trophy. Heading the team of 5 judges is craft beer expert and certified BJCP program judge Michael Ligas.
