During the first 18 months of the partnership, millions of homebuyers using Quebec's main real estate listing website, Centris.ca, obtained a better understanding of a property's nearby amenities and its neighbourhood's lifestyle through Local Logic®'s solution. Local Logic®, a Montreal startup, provides information on crucial buying factors such as nearby transport, accessibility to services, ambient sound levels and surrounding businesses further informing buyers before visiting a home for sale.
As of December, the neighbourhood data has been augmented on every listing on Centris.ca. Most notably, location scores are now more precise ranging from 1 to 10 instead of up to 5 and nearby amenities are now shown on a newly added map. For example, homebuyers can use the map to discover surrounding bus and rapid transit options in addition to daycares and schools.
To simplify the home search experience, homebuyers can now visualize on a map which areas and therefore listings most correspond to their lifestyle. Users simply select among 12 lifestyle criteria - such as quiet neighbourhood, car-friendly etc. - by clicking on an icon on top right of the map. Once selected, the map will display which areas are most desirable in green and less desirable ones in yellow to red for the chosen lifestyle criteria.
Furthermore, agents can now see a school's attendance areas in the agent section of Centris. This new functionality will help real estate agents provide crucial information to parents during the homebuying process. Further good news, the school attendance areas will also be displayed to consumers on Centris.ca in 2019.
This is just the beginning! Centris and Local Logic® will continue to provide additional features and tools on Centris.ca and for real estate agents.
