CALGARY, Alberta, June 27, 2013 /CNW/ - According to the City of Calgary, over 175,000 people have been displaced in the Greater Calgary Area due to the devastating flood that began earlier this month. While the State of Emergency has been extended to keep the aid effort operational and has allowed many Alberta area evacuees to safely return home, the 13,000 residents of the nearby High River area remain evacuated for their safety.
CPR Cell Phone Repair, an electronics repair company with a local presence, is assisting those most affected by the flood in the Greater Calgary Area by helping them reconnect with loved ones and businesses, as well as aiding in the ongoing recovery efforts. To assist individuals and businesses in getting reconnected, CPR is donating the repair of liquid damage on phones and providing temporary phones free of charge to those directly affected by the flood.
CPR understands how important it is for residents of Calgary and surrounding area to have access to a mobile device to stay connected with family, friends and emergency responders during this time. In addition to their voice and text functions, many of devices damaged in the flood also house important documents, precious photos and captured memories. In order to assist, CPR will be providing liquid damage repair for cell phones, free of charge. With an average turn-around time of 72 hours, CPR's staff of highly-skilled technicians is able to service a multitude of electronics devices including cell phones, gaming system, mp3 players, tablets and other personal electronics. In addition to liquid damage repair, CPR Calgary also will provide a free temporary cell phone to those who have lost theirs in the flood.
"While our store was not directly impacted, we feel for our many neighbors still affected by the flood," says Richard Lemieux, manager of CPR's Calgary location. "It is our pleasure to help all displaced Calgary and area residents to stay connected with family and friends as our community begins the road to recovery."
