CALGARY, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - Cheer on two of Calgary's best barista's from Phil & Sebastian's, who will be competing in the Canadian Barista Championship at the Coffee & Tea Show in Toronto September 9thand 10th, 2012.
The Canadian Barista Championship is the most popular event on the coffee lovers' calendar. Streamed online from the show, the country's best baristas - winners of Canada's three regional barista championships - will compete for the chance to represent Canada next spring at the 2013 World Barista Championship.
Besides the calm, clean and friendly demeanor displayed on the outside these competitors will be tasked to extract the freshest espresso beans to a specific weight, steam milk to an exact degree, and create a signature drink. Training for over three years, these barista's have earned their place in the Nationals by placing first and second in the Prairie Regionals. Since then, they have both camped out at the Phil & Sebastian roasterie practicing for the big day.
Ben Put and Jeremy Ho, are no new comers to this competition, as finalists in the last three years running they are now top contenders for gold. Making the trek all the way to Toronto, they are looking for a cheering section from Calgary to acknowledge the hard work and dedication it takes to compete at this level. We are asking Calgarian's to 'like' the barista's profile on the Phil & Sebastian Blog (https://www.philsebastian.com/blog/), and watch them compete on the live streaming set up by the Coffee & Tea show at home or on the displays in the Phil & Sebastian café's. Additionally, we can arrange for Ben and Jeremy to make you their signature drink and share their secret recipe and technique before or after competing.
