Livingston International welcomes top talent to its board of directors
TORONTO, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - John Clancey, former chairman of Maersk, Inc., one of the world's largest shipping companies, and Laurie Woodruff, former leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Canadian audit and assurance practice, have joined the board of directors of Livingston International Inc., today announced Peter Luit, Livingston's president and chief executive officer. Recently appointed to chair the Livingston board, John Clancey joins audit committee chair Laurie Woodruff as external directors.

From 1999 to 2010, Mr. Clancey managed Maersk, Inc.'s ocean transportation, truck and rail, logistics and warehousing and distribution businesses. He brings to Livingston a wealth of senior-level operational experience leading complex international businesses for more than 22 years, in addition to 16 years of service with boards of large public companies in a range of industries.
A partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1985 to 2009 when he retired, Mr. Woodruff is an expert in both American and Canadian accounting matters, advising and auditing mid- to large-sized public and private Canadian, U.S. and multi-national organizations.
"John's business acumen and background in mergers and acquisitions," said Luit, "combined with Laurie's expertise identifying and mitigating risk as well as his experience in strategy formulation and implementation will be invaluable to us, to ensure we execute our strategy effectively in the next four to five years, as we expand our leadership in customs and compliance in North America and become a national full-service customs broker in the United States."
Mr. Clancey continues to serve on the boards of Maersk Inc. and Maersk Line Limited. He also served as a member of the board of directors of UST Inc. from 1997 to 2009 and of Foster Wheeler AG from 2000 to 2005. Mr. Clancey retired from the United States Marine Corps as captain in 1970. He received a B.A. in economics and political science from Emporia State College.
Mr. Woodruff served as a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario from 2001 to 2007 and as a member of the council's executive from 2005 to 2007. From 1996 to 1998 and from 1998 to 2001, he was a member of the partnership board of Price Waterhouse and of PricewaterhouseCoopers, respectively. A certified public accountant (Illinois) and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Mr. Woodruff earned a B.A. in economics and politics from the University of Oxford and an ICD.D from the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
