COLLINGWOOD, ON, Aug. 6, 2015 /CNW/ - Living Water Resort & Residences, a year-round recreational and tourist destination situated right on the shores of Georgian Bay, has committed to donating $100,000 over multiple years to support Scholarship Programs and building developments at the South Georgian Bay Campus of Georgian College. The donations will be raised through various initiatives including support from the owner.
As of July, the Resort has already raised up to $15,000 through its 1st Annual Cranberry Charity Golf Tournament on their acclaimed 18-hole golf course in Collingwood, ON.
The purpose of the funding is to build a social, educational and employment enterprise. The focus of the scholarships will go towards Entrepreneurship, which generates new local business developments, and Hospitality, which provides great employment opportunities.
"We are proud to be able to take our business as a mission to help build a more profound and harmonious community. It is not about me or you, it is about us," said Larry Law, President of Living Water Resort & Residences. "We are creating a positive cycle: through post-high school educational opportunities, students have more cost-savings and options when the College is in their hometown, and are therefore more likely to use their newfound skills towards giving back to the community."
