Dallas Cert Camp March 22-24 will see more than 90 resellers hone their skills
DALLAS, TX and MONTREAL, Canada, March 22, 2012 /CNW/ - LightSpeed, makers of award-winning retail technology for the iGeneration, kicks off its 12th Certification Camp in Dallas, Texas, today as more than 90 resellers from around the world gather in the largest Cert Camp in the company's history.
With the recent release of LightSpeed for iPad, retail's first truly interactive customer experience platform, an important focus of Cert Camp Dallas will be on this exciting new extension of the LightSpeed platform that has already generated thousands of iTunes App Store downloads and is being used by retailers to increase sales by providing a rich, interactive shopping experience to their customers. Version 1.1 of LightSpeed for iPad, released just last week, makes it a viable standalone POS and adds Australian credit card processing support.
As with all Cert Camps, this Dallas edition, titled "Retail Enlightenment for Resellers," gives both new and experienced resellers the opportunity to share insight and be immersed in three days of intensive, interactive training. Resellers, who are a critical part of the LightSpeed ecosystem as they support retailers looking to offer an iGeneration retail experience in their stores, come to Cert Camp to learn how to provide complete, compelling solutions to retail businesses all over the world.
Attendees will participate in sessions tailored to their experience level, with detailed explanations of LightSpeed's many features, including purchasing, inventory control, accounting, networking, configuration, and multi-store and online selling, as well as newer or more complex features such as mobile point of sale and the ability to develop custom applications using LightSpeed's API. Completion of the training and a post-camp exam will give resellers added certifications that will showcase their new levels of expertise.
Certification Camp Spring 2012 will be held at the elegant Rosewood Crescent Hotel, situated in the 'new urbanist' Uptown district of Dallas, Texas. Coupled with the training sessions during the day, resellers can take part in Cert Camp's increasingly popular social events. Add-on module LightSpeed eCommerce allows retailers to sell their inventory online with a LightSpeed Web Store or Magento solution that is tightly integrated with their in-store database. LightSpeed Mobile offers retailers the ability to eliminate impersonal cash register line-ups and instead complete transactions on the retail floor using the same hardware as Apple does in its own retail stores. This mobile Point of Sale system represents the very latest in retail technology, without the high cost of custom application development that big box stores are paying to achieve the same functionality.
