MONTREAL, Aug. 9, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - lg2 is proud to announce its first investment in a promising startup, which fits perfectly with its mission to support emerging companies with products and services that are both disruptive and innovative. lg2 will support Biolux in the marketing of its new UBU brand and will become one of its key shareholders.
Biolux has been developing a unique product set to launch in California in the early adopters market, with plans of entering the Canadian market in the future. The UBU brand will offer a range of healthy drinks containing cannabidiol (CBD), a hemp extract that provides scientifically proven benefits. The drinks are also free of caffeine, sugar and other artificial sweeteners.
"When your main goal is innovation, you see new opportunities everywhere. Not only will we invest in the startup, but we will also provide marketing advice for the new business. Our goal is to help Biolux grow the same way they will help us grow," explains Anne-Marie Leclair, Partner and VP, Strategy and Innovation, at lg2.
Carlos Ponce, co-founder and CEO of Biolux, believes that this partnership will be beneficial for both companies. "Our newly formed business relationship will give us access to lg2's expertise, allowing us to build our brand identity, packaging and marketing strategy, both online and in-store. This partnership will allow both sides to benefit from the success of this company." According to Marc Hébert, co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, lg2's commitment to a non-traditional approach for growth shows how progressive the agency's business vision is. "Our partnership with lg2 came from a shared vision for innovation, both in terms of brand marketing and product development. From the very beginning, we knew it would be a natural fit."
For the past 25 years, lg2 has been an idea factory focused on encouraging innovation. With offices in Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, the agency has been transforming, reinventing and collaborating with the most innovative brands, both local and international, helping them nurture their ambitions and dreams to become leaders in their category. Biolux is a startup that develops and sells natural and healthy products, made in an ethical, sustainable and eco-friendly way. The company was founded in 2017 and is already getting ready to launch its new brand UBU in California in the next few months. The UBU brand will offer a range of natural drinks containing cannabidiol (CBD), a hemp extract, and will be free of caffeine, sugar and other artificial sweetners. Biolux is a pioneer in this emerging industry, with the mission of educating people about the therapeutic benefits of CBD, which, unlike THC from cannabis, has no euphoric effect.
