Leading Gem Expert Joins Auction House as Vice President

Duncan Parker brings 32 years of industry experience to Dupuis

TORONTO, May 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Dupuis Fine Jewellery Auctioneers Inc. today announced that Duncan Parker, FGA, FCGmA, CAP (CJA) has been named Vice President, Jewellery Specialist. His responsibilities will include consulting with consignors as well as assisting prospective buyers.

Previously, director of research at Harold Weinstein Ltd., a leading and respected jewellery appraisal company, Duncan has advised innumerable clients on the disposition of personal jewellery. Duncan is a columnist and contributor for industry magazines and journals. He has been an instructor of the gemstone course at Ryerson University, the Gemmology courses of George Brown College and Canadian Gemmological Association as well as instructor Master Valuer Program with the Canadian Jewellers Association. A renowned expert, he speaks regularly at international gem and jewellery conferences and symposiums, as well as at less formal events. He has served as President of the Canadian Gemmological Association since 1995. Duncan Parker has been an industry spokesperson for gems and jewellery on radio and television including Discovery Channel and HGTV.
