Last Accused Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy Charges
WINDSOR, ON, Dec. 3 /CNW/ - Andrew Allan LENNON, 28 years old of Windsor, ON entered guilty pleas in Windsor Superior Court on Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 to charges of Conspiracy to Traffic Ecstasy and Conspiracy to Possess Proceeds of Crime. Andrew LENNON was sentenced to 2 years jail in Windsor Superior Court on Friday, December 3rd, 2010. All remaining charges against LENNON were withdrawn.
Between November, 2007 and May, 2008 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police - Windsor Drug Section, Windsor Police Service and the Canada Border Services Agency integrated resources to form a viable investigative team to investigate the inter-provincial movement of ecstasy, methamphetamine and proceeds of crime (currency) between western Canada and southwestern Ontario. This investigation was dubbed Project OPellet.
During this investigation; the joint forces team seized approximately 25 kg of methamphetamine / ecstasy in tablet form (an estimated 102,000 tablets) valued at $2,040,000.00; 194 tablets of Oxycodone valued at $5,820.00; $140,320.00 in US and Canadian currency (ordered forfeited as proceeds of crime); 1 shotgun and 2 restricted semi-automatic handguns. Investigators also seized numerous vehicles, vehicle parts and electronic devices during the course of the investigation.
LENNON's co-accused: Wisam Bassim BAHJAT (27), Matthew Jason MILLS (27), Andrew Allan LENNON (50), Brandon Thomas SMITH (28) and Cedric Rhenard VanDUSEN (39) all of the Windsor area had previously entered guilty pleas to various Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges stemming from this joint forces investigation. All were sentenced in 2009.
