County enacts legal measure to prevent increasingly dangerous and unprofessional behaviour by contract fire services vendor.
SANGUDO, AB, March 24, 2016 /CNW/ - Lac Ste. Anne County today sought a court injunction against North West Fire Rescue – Onoway to prevent the private vendor from responding to incidents in Lac Ste. Anne County (and other municipalities contracting the County for Fire Services) without a specific request for assistance. This decision has come as a result of North West Fire Rescue – Onoway's repeated unsolicited excursions into Lac Ste. Anne County.
Despite the County's best efforts to mitigate this increasingly dangerous situation with the Town of Onoway, the Town has claimed that it is unable to abate its vendor's activities. As such, Lac Ste. Anne County shall address this issue without the Town's support, and seeks to legally prevent North West Fire Rescue – Onoway from making unsolicited responses to incidents within County-managed municipal boundaries.
