MONTREAL, Nov. 8, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - La Grande Dégustation de Montréal, an important annual event for lovers of wine, beer and spirits, will open its doors to visitors for its third edition at Place Bonaventure today at noon. The event brings together over 200 producers from 20 countries and provides the exemplary opportunity to discover no less than 1 200 products, including over 600 private imports, which can be ordered on-site.
Three themes will be in the spotlight this year: California as the featured region with a delegation of 40 winemakers; vodka, the most produced and consumed spirit in the world; and Chardonnay, a wonderfully multifaceted vintage.
This popular grape variety is the theme of a Top Ten Chardonnay list, chosen by a jury composed of 11 prominent industry professionals including New World and French wine producers, wine critics, SAQ representatives and sommeliers. The panel had the arduous task of selecting the ten best wines from among 64 entries from around the world . Here is our Top Ten ranking of the best Chardonnay:
