Kruger Products Unrolls Donation to Food Bank in Support of Ontario Families

MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Kruger Products, Canada's leading manufacturer of quality tissue and paper products for consumer and away-from-home use, including leading brands like Cashmere® bathroom tissue, Scotties® facial tissue and SpongeTowels® paper towel, proudly presented a much-needed donation at the Ontario government's Spring Food Drive in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank. Hunger and deprivation of basic comforts like bathroom tissue is a year-round concern for many families, but with support from companies like Kruger Products, a little help can make a big difference.

Kruger Products joined Premier Kathleen Wynne and Secretary of the Cabinet, Peter Wallace at the Spring Food Drive in Toronto on Thursday afternoon. The Company delightedly delivered 15,000 pounds of household tissue and paper products to the food drive in a Cashmere® truck.   "We are committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of Canadian families - it's at the core of everything we do - and we're honored to contribute in such a large way to the Ontario government's donation," says Mario Gosselin, Chief Operating Officer, Kruger Products.

Ontario food banks assist an average of 412,900 individuals each month, nearly 40 per cent of whom are children. Between April 2011 and March 2012, GTA-based food banks received more than 1,123,500 visits; this marked the fourth consecutive year that rates surpassed one million visits. Since its inception in 2008, the Ontario government's annual Spring Food Drive has raised more than 159,000 pounds of food. Our collective goal is to surpass this amount in 2013 and continue to support those in need.
