KNIGHTSCOVE MEDIA CORP./"SOPHIE" FILM FACE CLAIM
Financing Consultant Seeks Compensation For Greenlighting the Production
LOS ANGELES, TORONTO and REHOBOTH BEACH, DE, Sept. 28 /CNW/ - Ocean Point Advisors, Inc. (OPA) today commented on the claim it commenced earlier this month in the Superior Court of Ontario against Sophie Films 2009 Inc. (the Film), Knightscove Media Corp. (TSX VENTURE: KC.A)(TSX VENTURE: KC.B), and Knightscove Family Films Inc., variously for breach of written consulting agreements, copyright infringements, and unjust enrichment. General, special, consequential, aggravated, exemplary and punitive damages are being sought, along with an accounting of profits, legal costs and a possible injunction. None of the allegations have been proved yet in court.
OPA Principal, Bill Stuart, commented, "It had been very clear that the production would have come to an abrupt stop if we did not locate, facilitate and close a bridge financing. We were beseeched by Leif Bristow and other production executives to do so. Afterward, we received numerous compliments, thank-you(s) and promises to be paid. We would be surprised by any suggestion that the production did not benefit financially from our involvement, because Knightscove never said anything to that effect to us. One would think that if there ever had been a problem we would of have heard about it, given our close involvement in all these matters. Any counterclaim against us would be like trying to bite the hand that feeds you. It would be entirely baseless - made in reaction to a legitimate claim for payment - and it would be a shame if our efforts were tainted by any suggestion that we did not do enough to help greenlight the production with outside money."
OPA is a boutique investment advisory firm, based in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, offering innovative business solutions to both privately held and publicly held companies.
