TORONTO, July 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Kingspan Insulated Panels ("Kingspan"), a customer of Legend Power Systems Inc. ("Legend Power") has reduced its annual energy consumption by over 60,000 kWh and eliminated over 11 tons of greenhouse gas emissions by installing Legend Power's Harmonizer-AVR in their 300,000 sq. foot Caledon, Ontario location. The savings Kingspan has achieved by installing the Harmonizer-AVR, a device which saves energy by regulating voltage, is equivalent to permanently removing over 450 standard fluorescent light bulbs from their operations.
Kingspan is committed to providing sustainable building envelope solutions while ensuring that their global portfolio of over 100 sales and manufacturing facilities are operating at peak efficiency. Kingspan's global mandate is to be a net zero corporation by 2020; or more simply put, Kingspan's buildings will produce as much energy as they consume. It is this commitment to sustainability that led Kingspan to Legend Power.
Legend Power installed the Harmonizer-AVR in Kingspan's Ontario location in March of 2013 and Kingspan has been saving energy ever since. The Harmonizer-AVR is installed in a building's electrical room where power enters a building and regulates incoming voltage levels, saving energy. Power utilities are unable to fine tune voltage levels on the power grid, which often times results in energy waste due to a higher than necessary voltage supply at the building level. The Harmonizer-AVR eliminates this waste. As the Harmonizer-AVR has no moving parts, the savings Kingspan has realized will persist for over 10 years at a minimum.
"We are extremely pleased to be a part of Kingspan's Path to Net Zerotm initiative" says Legend Power CEO Randy Buchamer. "Environmental excellence is one of our core values; we are excited to see our product deliver such great results while working with a company so committed to sustainability"
Congratulations to Kingspan for putting their commitment to environmental excellence to action.
