TORONTO, June 10, 2013 /CNW/ - Real Matters, a leading provider of property insights to the North American mortgage and property and casualty (P&C) insurance industries, today announced its charitable foundation has raised $650,000 to date through its Kasting 4 Kids Rehab fly fishing event. The 4th Annual event occurred May 31, 2013 at Ontario's Franklin Club.
Kasting 4 Kids Rehab was created to support Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital's groundbreaking, globally impactful research as well as support local children with disabilities and their families. Holland Bloorview is Canada's largest children's rehabilitation teaching hospital.
"Holland Bloorview is renowned worldwide for its life-changing research," says Jason Smith, President and CEO of Real Matters. "I've had the opportunity to see the positive difference the work being carried out at Holland Bloorview makes in the lives of children, their families and their communities both here at home and around the world. It's both powerful and inspiring," says Smith.
"Real Matters and the sponsors and participants of Kasting 4 Kids Rehab are changing the world for children with disabilities and their families at home and abroad," says Tracey Bailey, President & CEO of Holland Bloorview Foundation. "The proceeds from this amazing event are supporting our highest priority needs in the hospital, which includes groundbreaking research in autism, acquired brain injury and innovative therapies for kids with cerebral palsy. Real Matters inspires us because they are truly committed to removing barriers that prevent children with disabilities from participating fully in life."
This year's Kasting 4 Kids Rehab featured one-on-one instruction from Canada's top fly fishing guides. It was sponsored by leaders in Toronto's financial and professional community, including BMO Capital Markets; Altus Group & Argus Software; Dell Software; Forum Equity Partners, GMP Securities LP; Whitecastle Investments; CIBC World Markets Inc.; Cantor Fitzgerald; Cormark Securities Inc.; Davies Ward Phillips & Viney LLP; Deloitte; Dentons; D+H; Egan Family Foundation; HUB HKMB; HSBI Benefits Inc.; iv3CUS; National Bank Financial Inc.; Paradigm Quest Inc.; Raymond James Ltd.; Solidifi; TD Securities; Wellington Financial LP; Wildeboer Dellelce LLP; Willson Brokerage and The Franklin Club.

The Club was established as a weekend retreat in 1909 by a group of doctors from Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital. Today, the club occupies 200 acres within the Oak Ridges Moraine and is a member-owned, private recreational fishing club specializing in fly-fishing for rainbow and speckled trout. "The Club is thrilled to be associated with Kasting 4 Kids Rehab and honoured to have hosted the event on its fourth anniversary," says Jim Oosterbroek, Manager of the Franklin Club.
