KAHNAWÀ:KE, QC, May 13, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawks) of Kahnawà:ke are joining in the "NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST BILL C-33" being held tomorrow (Onerahtohkó:wa/ Wednesday, May 14, 2014).
Across Indigenous Peoples' Country there has been a call for action to oppose the First Nations Control of First Nations Education Act (Bill C-33).
Kahnawà:ke has organized a Community Rally for a traffic slowdown to send a message to the Stephen Harper Government which be held in Kahnawà:ke on Wednesday morning, then later the same day, continue to participate in a major Rally on Parliament Hill.
There will be a ceremonial Tobacco Burning at 7:30am to begin the Kahnawà:ke event, with a march to begin at 8:30am. The march will take approximately 30 minutes, which will give those wishing to utilize the bus service to Ottawa time to get to the Knights of Columbus, where they will depart at 10:00am.

Busses will begin loading at 9:30am and depart at 10:00am from the Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus ask that people park at the far north end of the Parking Lot.
The Rally will begin at Parliament Hill at 1:00pm. There will be a March around the loop to return to Parliament Hill.
We encourage the entire community to come out and support this opposition. We invite our neighbors and supporters to participate and the media to witness the event.
