Judgment enforcement can be expensive and time consuming - a serious impediment to justice. The website offers creditors a structured platform to publish their enforceable judgments. "Too many people see themselves as immune to our legal system. By prominently publishing on the internet the names and information related to a specific judgment we motivate debtors to pay" said Dougall Grange, the company's founder and CEO. "In addition", said Grange, "the public may use our database to investigate those with whom they do business."
Each debtor is assigned a distinct URL which makes each posting highly visible on the web. Information, including photographs, sufficient to positively identify each debtor debtors is freely available. There is a reward system in place to encourage viewers to provide information through the PublicExecutions.ca site that can be used to enforce these judgments.
Published judgments must be removed once the debt is paid and other strict rules make sure each posting complies with Canadian privacy law and assures everyone else that the information presented here is reliable.
Public Executions.ca is owned and operated by Public Executions, Inc., an Ontario corporation.
Founder and CEO Dougall Grange has a B.A. in Economics from York University. He has worked as a private investigator and for various law firms providing litigation support. He is presently licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a P1 paralegal. During his years of experience in the legal field Dougall learned how hard it can be to collect judgments. Public Executions is an important step in modernizing the judgment collection process in Canada.
