Astral, founded by Master Sommelier Richard Betts, is a heritage spirit created using traditional methods reminiscent of the way tequila was made 150 years ago. It is derived from agaves, organically grown at high elevation, in the mountains of Jalisco, Mexico. The spirit is then twice distilled and bottled at a higher-than-normal 92 proof, resulting in an elegant and subtle flavour.
"We believe that Astral is light years beyond industrial tequila. It's crafted the way tequila used to be, before factory production and cost-cutting shortcuts," said Betts. "It expresses all that the land has to say."
