JOEY Bell Tower Opening this Thursday at 3pm

Launching with a state-of-the art design, new offerings and two Happy Hours

EDMONTON, Aug. 15, 2016 /CNW/ - JOEY Restaurant Group's newest location, JOEY Bell Tower, will open in the heart of downtown Edmonton this Thursday, August 18 at 3pm. Located in the new arena district, JOEY Bell Tower will feature an open kitchen with glass walls to showcase the chefs in action to all those who pass by.

"Guests will see the kitchen like never before," said Darin Getty, Regional Manager of JOEY Restaurants. "This design will truly showcase the talent we house at JOEY and guests will get to experience chef life like never before."

Elegant custom chandeliers dawn the entrance of JOEY Bell Tower fabricated by Calgary's own Christiaan & Planck. A large double sided chevron wine wall, an element brought to life by local Alberta Custom Metal Fabricators, will be a dramatic feature of the new location.

The restaurant has incorporated a covered garden terrace that can be enjoyed all year long. Large operable doors can be opened during the summer months to bring the outdoors in, while a large double-sided fireplace helps curb the chilly Edmonton winters.

Off the garden terrace is the lounge with the first ever bar island of any JOEY location. This island hosts a juicing station for bartenders to showcase their skills. Spanning across the entire back wall of the space is an illuminated 3D brick wall made from Purington Pavers, a signature reclaimed brick used to form streets in the early 1900's. A refurbished neon sign, rooting from 1930's Chicago era, hangs in the distance and adds a dynamic glow to the space.

The JOEY Bell Tower menu will feature a lot of new offerings, including:

  • Osaka Style Pressed Salmon Sushi, with fire seared salmon, umami sauce and shaved serrano peppers,
  • Night Market Curry Dip, a spicy chickpea curry served with house baked naan bread and aromatic herbs,
  • Chef's Daily Rotisserie Chicken that is brined for 24 hours, spit-roasted hourly with signature spices and finished with globally inspired flavors that change daily,

"It was important to me to share the whole culinary experience with our guests," said JOEY Executive Chef Chris Mills. "Our showcase kitchen allows guests to see the craftsmanship and quality that goes into every dish. We`re also excited to feature our liquid nitrogen Spun Daily Ice Cream perfect for the long summer days. We work with a talented group of chefs and we are excited to show case their skills."

Along with the new design and offerings JOEY Bell Tower will launch with two happy hours; a daily 3-6pm and a Sunday to Thursday 9pm to close. During these hours guests can enjoy JOEY classics such as the signature Super Sonic (1oz) and Bellini, JOEY Genuine Draft or Red Racer Copper Ale all for $4. Cuvee white and red will also be on special for $5.

"We are excited to include some of our new offerings as part of the daily happy hour we are launching. It's a great way to try a few different things," said Nekko Leiterman, GM of JOEY Bell Tower. "During 3-6pm guests can enjoy Hawaiian Tuna Tacos, Sushi Cones and Sliders all for $3.50 each or get something to share like our classic Gyoza or our new Night Market Curry both $9.50."

Located at 10310 – 101 NW Street in the Ice District, JOEY Bell Tower opens this Thursday, August 18 at 3pm.
