    Competition Celebrates 600 Year Old Pouring Ritual

On October 29 , draught masters from 32 countries will descend upon New York City to perform the centuries old Belgian Pouring Ritual and compete for the 2009 Stella Artois World Draught Master title. The crowned winner will embark on a global quest where they will visit more than 20 different countries as a Stella Artois brand ambassador and share their passion and dedication to the craft of the perfect pour.

The annual draught master competition continues to grow in stature and success. To help celebrate Stella Artois' 10 year anniversary in the U.S,, the contest will be held in New York City after being hosted in Leuven, Belgium for the past 12 years.

In addition, this year, New York Fashion Designer Tim Hamilton has created the Stella Artois Chalice Trophy that embodies the ideals of the competition, as well as created a limited edition of 500 numbered chalice replicas - the brand's iconic glassware.

Canada is Represented

Representing Canada in the World Draught Master Finals on October 29th is 29 year old Joe Oppedisano. A realtor from Maple/Vaughan, Ontario, Oppedisano was named Canadian champion during this year's Stella Artois Draught Master Competition in Canada where he exhibited his mastery of the 9-Step Belgian Pouring Ritual.
