BURLINGTON, Ontario, Aug. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Jiffy Lube®, a Shell Canada Products business, announces today a new campaign, Muscle UpSM, in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC). Muscle Up invites drivers to visit participating Jiffy Lube service centers throughout British Columbia and Ontario between August 1 and September 11, 2012 to help raise funds for MDC and those affected by muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases.
SUPPORT THE CAUSE
More than 50,000 Canadians are affected by neuromuscular disease and the Muscle Up campaign emphasizes the parallels between the body's muscles and a vehicle's engine – both require care and maintenance to perform to their fullest potential. Beginning today, Jiffy Lube customers can make a $3 donation to MDC at participating Jiffy Lube service centers in British Columbia and Ontario. In return, donors will receive a Jiffy Lube Muscle Up savings book containing more than $100 in savings, with 100 percent of the funds raised benefitting MDC and its programs.
"The Jiffy Lube brand is proud to work with such an impactful organization to help support the families who benefit from MDC services and research," said Stu Crum, president of Jiffy Lube International. "Jiffy Lube franchisees and operators in Canada are committed to delivering a worry-free customer experience and we hope funds raised through the Muscle Up campaign will help relieve some worry from families who are affected by neuromuscular disease."
The MDC mission is to enhance the lives of those affected by neuromuscular disorders by continually working to provide ongoing support and resources while relentlessly searching for a cure through well-funded research. Kevin Harrison, National Director of Corporate and Individual Giving for MDC, adds: "We encourage drivers across Canada to donate to this important cause. Donations made at Jiffy Lube service centers will directly help individuals throughout Canada who are affected by neuromuscular disease."
The Muscle Up campaign is driven by the passionate support of Jiffy Lube franchisees and operators, who are deeply committed to giving back to their communities, as well as the drivers who look to Jiffy Lube for their vehicle preventive maintenance needs.
