Jessica Lloyd Investigation Follow-Up

BELLEVILLE, ON, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - The Belleville Police Service with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of 27 year old Jessica Lloyd.

Last night, February 4, 2010 investigators from the Belleville Police Service and the OPP conducted a canvass of potential witnesses on Highway 37. Officers will continue to work together to determine any potential links to cases currently being investigated by the OPP.

Police want to advise the public that over the next several days they can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as officers continue to look for information about Jessica's disappearance.

On January 29th, 2010 family members reported to police that Jessica had gone missing. She was last known to be at her home on Highway No. 37 in the late evening of January 28th.

The Belleville Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police are reminding the public to practice personal safety at all times. Community members in Belleville and the surrounding OPP areas need to be cognizant of their safety. Police are asking that anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour or vehicles call police immediately.
