Grassroots projects to share the $100,000 Call for the Wild! donation
TORONTO, Aug. 13, 2012 /CNW/ - The polls are open for Canadians to vote for one of five non-profit wildlife and wilderness organizations. Call for the Wild!, the annual people's choice donation program from Jamieson Laboratories, awards $100,000 to grassroots groups that protect, conserve and rehabilitate Canada's iconic habitats and species.
The public-voting Call for the Wild! campaign runs through September 16, 2012, on Facebook. The nominated groups represent diverse regions of Canada:
- BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (British Columbia)
- Nature Saskatchewan (Saskatchewan)
- David Suzuki Foundation (Ontario)
- Le Nichoir Wild Bird Rehabilitation Centre (Quebec)
- Salmon and Trout Restoration Association of Conception Bay Central (Newfoundland & Labrador)
"Now in its third year, Call for the Wild! raises awareness and gives all Canadians a chance to celebrate the good work of these community groups," says Vic Neufeld, President and CEO of Jamieson Laboratories. "At Jamieson, we're passionate about human wellness and the health of the country's environment and wildlife. One of our goals is to inspire conversation about the ongoing need for sustainable action, conservation and rehabilitation. We look forward to hearing from Canadians across the country."
Throughout the five-week campaign, Canadians will learn details about the purpose and progress of each participating organization. They will be invited to post questions and comments about these environmental endeavours on Facebook and Twitter.
During Call for the Wild!, every public vote contributes to the share that each organization will receive of the $100,000 donation from Jamieson Laboratories. Visit www.facebook.com/jamiesonvitamins now through September 16, 2012, to cast your vote!
