Invitation to media - Jacques Ramsay to announce Government of Canada support for two Montérégie businesses affected by tariff situation

LA PRAIRIE, QC, May 15, 2026 /CNW/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Government of Canada is taking action by supporting businesses as they diversify their markets in order to reduce risk, strengthen their economic resilience and consolidate their competitiveness to help them face tariff pressures.

It is in this context that Jacques Ramsay, Member of Parliament for La Prairie–Atateken and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Security, will announce CED funding for two aluminum industry businesses under the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI).

The announcement of this CED financial contribution will be made on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for CED.
