Government of Canada provides financial support for upgrades to BMO Studio Theatre in Saint John
SAINT JOHN, Feb. 17, 2014 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada has provided funding through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund to help the Saint John Theatre Company upgrade its BMO Studio Theatre. This multipurpose performing arts space presents the Fundy Fringe Festival and a variety of other cultural events.
Member of Parliament Rodney Weston (Saint John) today announced $30,190 for fiscal year 2013-14 for the theatre company on behalf of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Minister Shelly Glover.
Thanks to this investment, the BMO Studio Theatre will purchase and install sound, lighting, and projection equipment, as well as a screen and 100 chairs. The upgrades will improve the venue for artists to create and for audiences to enjoy a wider range of professional performing arts presentations. Specialized equipment and seating upgrades are essential to deliver the theatre's professional presentation series and to accommodate the needs of rental clients.
